Rebuilding my wheelchair tolerance

Tuesday 24th August, 2021

After being in bed for just over three weeks with cellulitis, I’ve found that the length of time I can comfortably stay in my wheelchair has shortened noticeably; it is currently around two hours before my thighs and/or hips start to ache.

If the last time I had cellulitis is anything to go by, then it will take around another week and a half before I am back to whatever passes for normal. The problem is that as my body declines, so does my wheelchair tolerance; this makes it difficult to know if pushing myself to stay in the chair longer is gonna be beneficial or whether I’m just making myself ache for no reason.
